TECHNICAL TROPHY COMPETITION 2010

The Institute of Fire Prevention Officers, an international fire prevention and fire safety Institute, in association with SureFire Systems Ltd, a UK based premier fire safety systems supplier and installer throughout the UK and Europe, are pleased to announce the annual IFPO/SureFire Technical Trophy Competition. The competition is for the best Technical Paper or Essay on any fire related subject.

A prize of the esteemed and respected information database, formerly 'Fire, Emergency and Preparedness Worldwide', valued at £550, donated by
Sheila Pantry OBE, Director of Sheila Pantry Associates Ltd.
'FIREINF' is arguably the world’s premier collection of fire and fire related, validated and
authoritative information, that aims to help all those seeking such information. Emphasis is on all aspects of fire, emergency and preparedness, management principles, Fire Risk Assessment, practices and research, standards and legislation.

To enable participants to formulate a paper, the following subjects are given as a guide.
1. Fire Safety awareness - are we learning from past incidents?
2. Active Fire Protection - Is it effectively managed and maintained?
3. Fire Safety Training in the Workplace - is it effective?
4. Fire Engineering Solutions - do they increase the risk?
5. Fire Risk Assessments - what is suitable and sufficient?
6. Passive Fire Protection - is its installation and maintenance effectively monitored?
